She began her business by making flower baskets which evolved into all types of items along with a clothing line. Gretchen gets most of her inspiration for her designs from India and says Indian simplicity clarified even the most complicated design elements. Hand blocks, complex patterns, and vibrant colors define her designs. She has taken this simplicity and energetic colors to another level by giving her clothing items amusing names such as: gripeless pull on pants, damsel midi, duke of york and outta site dress.
